“A calm mind brings inner strength and self-confidence
- that’s very important to good health.”

— Dalai Lama

Hi, I’m Barbara

20+ years ago curiosity lead me to yoga where I learned that yoga is more about how it feels and supports your body, mind & spirit than the poses.

I’m here to meet you where you’re at in your health journey.

My passion is supporting clients in meeting their healing and health goals including:

  • learning to manage challenging issues including PTSD (post-traumatic syndrome disorder) or healing from an accident (like a fall or MVA - motor vehicle accident);

  • transitioning out of pain;

  • increasing mobility and movement;

  • releasing anxiety/stress;

  • improving functionality, health and well-being.

It’s all about what’s right for YOU

Life gets busy. Stress wears on you and your mind, body, spirit, health, relationships, sleep, energy and well-being.

Yoga, breath and mindfulness bring balance and ease.

Connect to the power within and to the present moment and live with ease.

Peaceful connections

It’s time to nurture yourself with yoga and easeful practices can be deeply nourishing and relaxing,

Take a few minutes … slow down ... breathe … be guided through easeful relaxation and gentle movements releasing life’s busyness and stresses.

Settle the mind, body and nervous system.

Regain health ~ move with ease ~ release brain fog ~ enjoy better sleep, energy and clarity.

Yoga, Mindfulness and Yoga Therapy offer a wide array of deep and healing benefits.

Work with someone with lived experiences and discover how you, too, can heal.

My Brain Injuries Journey

My initial brain injury in 2012 was like a gentle nudge to pay closer attention to my body, its needs and self-care. My brain injury in 2017 rocked my world and 2 brain injuries in 2023 enhanced cognitive challenges, brain fog, sleep deprivation and reactivated triggers / symptoms.

From my previous experiences, I knew the importance of listening to my body’s whispers - to slow down, rest, connect with breath / ease and to nurture my healing

I share my traumatic brain injury (TBI) experiences in hopes it may help support you either in your TBI journey, or to help you understand that brain injuries can be happen in various ways.

Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs), Acquired Brain Injuries (ABIs), concussions and other brain injuries can be “invisible” as often there are no scars or casts/bandages indicating something is broken or someone is healing … and many people don’t understand what’s different or what’s wrong.

Dealing with a TBI can feel isolating, lonely and frustrating… Know you are not alone. Please reach out for support.

Healing yoga

Life shifted from ‘fixing’ to exploring, listening, accepting and resilience through self-kindness.

It can take a long time for the body and mind to begin to settle after trauma to the body, and a brain injury.

Each healing journey is unique.

Anxiety, stress and depression are common but don’t need to be forever.

The body begins to heal as we learn to listen to its whispers and nurture it with self-care, self-talk, self-love and acceptance.

I am here to support and walk the journey with you.

Community

Provides a framework of support, sharing, understanding, acceptance and practical assistance that can enhance the healing process - often providing resources and people you can talk with and mostly to know you are not alone in your healing journey.

Community plays a very important / crucial role in healing for several reasons:

  • Being part of a community provides a network of emotional support. Friends, family and support groups can offer empathy, understanding, and encouragement, which can be incredibly comforting during difficult times.

  • Feeling connected to a group helps one feel less isolated. This sense of belonging can counteract feelings of loneliness, frustration and alienation - which can often be associated with stress and mental health issues.

  • Communities often bring together people with similar experiences or challenges. Sharing stories and coping strategies can validate feelings and provide practical advice, making it easier to navigate personal struggles.  Sharing with someone who has experienced ‘like challenges’ helps with sharing challenges, frustrations and fears with others that can share and support through their life experiences.

  • Communities often offer tangible support, such as help with daily tasks, resources for medical or financial needs and access to information and services. This can alleviate some of the burdens associated with healing and recovery.

  • Being around others who are supportive and encouraging can boost motivation, acceptance and resilience. This can be particularly important in overcoming setbacks and staying committed to recovery goals.

  • Regular social interaction within a community can improve mental well-being and that you are not alone on this journey. Engaging with others helps keep the mind active and can provide a sense of purpose and joy.

  • Communities can be sources of knowledge and inspiration. Learning from others' experiences and seeing how they cope and thrive can offer valuable insights and strategies for one's own healing journey.

Sharing healing connection and experiences with gentle, relaxing, nurturing yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, stillness, and transformational Yoga Therapy can be life changing - in a great way!
